FAA tests bird-strike radar

The US Federal Aviation Administration is to test a radar system that can track flocks of birds, hopefully helping pilots avoid the type of collision that recently brought down US Airways Flight 1549. The technology allegedly will allow air traffic controllers to delay takeoffs, reroute flights before takeoff, or tell pilots to take evasive action.
