UPS opens Shanghai facility

United Parcels Service has opened a handling facility at the Pudong International Airport, Shanghai, China that features an on-site, round the clock customers' inspection area with automated item inspection. There are 117 conveyor belts and 47 docking bays at the facility, which has a package sorting capacity of 17,000 pieces per hour.

Aer Lingus says it has won a union agreement to cut at least 200 jobs and will implement a pay freeze that will deliver EUR50 million in savings.
