Anchorage, US-based Northern Air Cargo has been sold to Seattle, US-based Saltchuk Resources for an undisclosed sum. Saltchuk plans to upgrade Northern Air's fleet and also grow the company.

CAAS and Certis CISCO ink security contract

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Certis CISCO have signed a Master Security Services (MSS) contract for the provision of security services at Singapore Changi Airport, Seletar Airport, Changi Airfreight Centre and Singapore Air Traffic Control Centre.  The 5-year contract - the first such master contract for security manpower - is for the period 01 April 2008 to 31 March 2013, with the option to extend for a further five years.

EOS fails

Eos Airlines has failed, the second transatlantic business class-only carrier to sink in the past six months.
Operations ceased entirely last night (Sunday), a statement on the Eos website said.  Rival MAXjet closed just before Christmas, leaving Silverjet as the only remaining airline offering business class-only between the US and the UK.
