Customs warns of ICS outage ahead of May switch to new facility

Australian Customs says the transition of the hosting of the Integrated Cargo System (ICS) was successful and it is now planning the final, major transition phase. This involves transitioning the platform that hosts the Customs Connect Facility (CCF) to the new IT provider and to new facilities.

Aircraft to cost more

Aircraft manufacturer Airbus has increased prices for its aircraft. On top of the 2.74 per cent ‘normal’ escalation for the year 2007, the price increase comprises an additional US$2 million per single-aisle aircraft and US$4 million per wide-body long range and A380 aircraft. The new pricing will apply from 01 May.

China Southern profit up 786 per cent

China Southern Airlines, China’s largest carrier by fleet size, says its 2007 profit soared 786 per cent on the stronger yuan and higher passenger numbers. Passengers carried jumped 15.6 per cent to 56.9 million, while cargo and mail volume climbed 6.5 per cent to 872,000 tons.  Net profit jumped to 1.85 billion yuan (US$264 million).
