EU updates carrier bans

The European Commission has extended the ban on Indonesian airlines that stops them flying into EU airspace and has added six carriers from Kazakhstan, one from Thailand, one from Ukraine and all certified airlines from Benin to the list.

Three more airlines fined for fixing freight rates

Three more international airlines — Luxembourg-based Cargolux Airlines International S.A., Japan-based Nippon Cargo Airlines Co. Ltd. (NCA), and Korea-based Asiana Airlines Inc. —have each agreed to plead guilty and pay criminal fines for conspiring to fix prices in the air cargo industry. In addition, Asiana was charged with fixing the passenger fares charged on flights from the United States to Korea.
