Singapore Airlines will begin scheduled A380 services from Singapore to Sydney on 25 October … The latest figures out of Perth show the South East Asian air freight market is down 22 per cent so far this year … Former Sydney-based manager Australia for Lufthansa, Gabriela Ahrens has been promoted to regional director Lufthansa Cargo for South East Asia and Australia, based in Singapore. Kai Peters replaces Ahrens in Sydney.

Qantas Freight is expected to extend its freighter service between Shanghai and New York to Viracopos (VCP) Sao Paulo. No details have been confirmed by the carrier, but some Mascot forwarders are aware of the proposed extension and most say it could be a good move.

ACAP contacted Qantas Freight for confirmation but had not received a reply as this edition went to press.
