ECS appointed GSA for Thai in Eastern Europe

Thai Airways International has appointed European Cargo Services (ECS) as its cargo GSA in Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
ECS offices in the region expect to generate more than 1,000 tonnes of cargo per annum for the airline.

DNATA to ink Australian deal?

Industry rumours are rife that an announcement is imminent of a major tie-up between Toll Air Services and Dubai’s DNATA, a division of Emirates Airlines. Market speculation suggests DNATA and Toll will develop a ground handling operation for the Australian market. Aircargo Asia-Pacific contacted senior management at Toll Group but they declined to comment.

Modified Ruslan freighter certified

Modifications to the AN-124 to develop the Ruslan AN-124-100M-150 freighter aircraft into launch phase have been approved and certified compliant with all international regulations and aircraft safety requirements. The АN-124-100 Ruslan is the only freighter able to carry cargo up to 150 tonnes in weight and 6.5 metre in diameter.

Large freighter deal for Intrepid

Intrepid Aviation Group has signed with Airbus a firm order for the purchase of 20 A330-200 freighters. This is the largest order received for this aircraft so far. Following a letter of intent signed in the fourth quarter of last year, Intrepid’s order has deliveries starting in 2010 and running through 2012.
