Royal Jordanian appoints HACTL

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals (HACTL) has been appointed by Royal Jordanian Airlines as its HK air cargo terminal operator, providing services that include physical cargo and air cargo documentation handling.  The carrier launched services to Hong Kong on 23 January, starting its thrice-weekly scheduled passenger service between Amman, Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Hong Kong International Airport set new records last year, with cargo volumes growing 4.5 per cent to 3.7 million tonnes, passenger numbers climbing 7.5 per cent to 47.8 million and air traffic movements hitting 295,600.
Cargo volumes rose 5.7 per cent to 338,000 tonnes in December alone.

Jeju Air opts for Boeing

Boeing has won a US$363 million order for five B737-800s from South Korean budget airline Jeju Air. The airline also says it will lease an additional 10 aircraft by 2013.  The two year old airline already has a fleet of four planes -- bought from Canada's Bombardier – and plans to enter the international market after its second anniversary June 5, pending government approval.
